An Interesting Discovery
I know it has been a while since my last post, and I know that this has frustrated the no one who reads my writings. I have been working far too often and for many hours and I am in the middle of, what is looking to be, 19 straight days on the job. I would be rich, except for the gas money that it costs to go from home to Beaverton and back everyday. I have been surprised that it has not cost me more; I am actually a little pissed by it. I do not like wasting my money to fatten up an already government subsidized and economy draining Oil Company but I really hate being manipulated by them a little more.
On a regular basis the key phrase that leads to my pockets being emptied, and replaced with receipts for “10 of the regular”, is trouble in the Middle East. I guess this is an excuse to deflate the rest of the American people’s income for a skirmish that does nothing to the price of oil but start the danger flags waving. The people in power over the oil are too powerful to be affected by such things, but it is an out for extra profit. This time around the big boys did not follow the tried and true plan of price hiking. Israel and Lebanon have been at war for a time now and gas prices have not shifted beyond their normal fluctuation level that we have all learned to deal with.
What does this mean? No one will ever really know unless you are in that top echelon of people who turn the gears of the world of oil, and its entwined partner in crime politics. I like to speculate as to why they want to appease us meaningless citizens. It is obvious that the US has always supported Israel and even more so now with George in office. Bush needs to be on the side if Israel because he feels he is ruling though God directly. According to the Old Testament any nation that stands against Israel is doomed. This does not mean we have to support them in everyway and always be involved as Bush has seemed to take interpret it. I see this stagnation in gas prices as a way of keeping the alertness of the defiant public down and keeping support of Israel as a non issue in the public’s eye. If nothing negative happens, like a rise in the price of gas or American deaths at home or overseas, no one sees a reason to get involved. I for one agree with our backing of Israel, our nation standing up for an eternally oppressed people in an attempt to give them back respect that has long been denied. As long as this support does not come with the demotion of other peoples, in turn creating another demeaned race, than I hope we give them support until we collapse into ruin as our power is spread too thin and we are overcome by disaster. As long as we help to work for peace as we keep them with enough arms to sufficiently take out Canada and Mexico to become our only neighbors and then we can be really buddy buddy. I just do not like the manipulation and constant disregard for the intelligence of the American people. I guess since we fall for it every time nothing is going to change. I might just be inventing something that is not there and, I could be blowing something out of proportion. I guess maybe I should just take it as a blessing that I get to save some cash for my ride to work. I guess I am just a life time subscriber to the old adage of, if it is too good to be true than it probably is.
